Boxing or fighting has been around for thousands of years. The ancient Greeks had boxing as part of the games they played and so did ancient Celts used boxing and wrestling as competition between men of various tribes. In some parts of the world it is still used today to settle disputes.

Start as early as possible, but remember that you do not want to get boxer's dementia from too many hits in the head
It depends whether you have the training, the biuld and the size. If you've been practicing for ages, since you were young, then maybe, but if not, your chances are low. However, try anyway. You never know, do you?
I'd say, start whenever you want to; it all depends on how quickly you pick things up; and how determined you are. Down where I train there's a 6 year old doing boxing; and there's 30 year olds starting up, But if you're interested in going pro; I'd definitely say as soon as possible! It varies per the individual. Sometimes a boxer can "burn-out" (Sean O'Grady comes to mind). Pick your age to begin.
