The NCAA-CFB National Championship Game is played during the January following the Year for which the season is played, therefore;
The 2008 Season's NCG was played January 8, 2009 when the #1 University of Florida defeated #2 Oklahoma 24-14 in the Miami Orange Bowl.
This was UF's second 'Crystal Ball' for the BCS National Championship and was the second team to accomplish the feat of winning two Crystal Balls. {following LSU}
The 2007 Season's NCG was played January 7, 2008 when #2 Louisiana State University defeated #1 Ohio State 28-24 in the New Orleans Sugar Bowl.

∙ 11y agoAt the 2012 BCS College Football national championship game, Alabama won against Louisiana State University. The LSU Tigers were shut out losing with a score of 21 to 0.

∙ 11y agoIn 1998 the BCS National Championship game was legendary and magnificent. There was no set winner in this game because of miscalculations in the scores and misbehavior in the players.

For the 2006 season, the championship game (played in January 2007) was won by the Florida Gators. For the 2005 season (for which the championshipo game was played in January 2006), the winner was the Texas Longhorns.
Florida and LSU have each won two BCS championships. No one else has won more than one.

The Miami Hurricanes defeated Nebraska in the BCS championship on January 3rd, 2002. Note that this was the championship of the 2001 season. The champions of the 2002 season were the Ohio State Buckeyes, who defeated Miami in the 2003 BCS championship.
The bcs has only been around since 98 Tennessee won the first bcs championship
The BCS was only introduced in 1998.In 1996 Florida won the national championship after beating FSU in the Sugar Bowl.
