The Christy Mathewson's "Big Six" Indoor Baseball game is worth about $750. - $1,2500. in excellent - near/mint condition.
Christy Mathewson signatures are rare and highly sought after. On average a Christy Mathewson signature can sell between $8,000.-$12,000. Not too many signed baseballs found, and most of the auction I viewed were for signed books selling as high as $26,000. A cut signature could sell in the $2,000. -$3,000. range.
Because the signature is on the back it would be valued as a cut signature. If it were on the cover, it would make a better display, and raise the value. The condition, and the type of authenticity that accompanies the signature will be a factor on value. If the signature is not properly authenticated it could sell at half the market value or less.
The signature, and the game have a higher value if sold separately. Problem is, the signature is on the back of the cover and cannot be displayed at the same time. This will lower the value of the signature, or the game significantly. As it is the game with the signature on the back of the cover, it might sell slightly higher than the unsigned game or the value of the signature, and not the full value of the game, and the signature added together.
I'm not familiar with the back of the cover. It is possible that the signature is a facsimile, and is part of the printing on the game.
