In football, that was Jim Gregory who was a backup QB, playing behind James Harris and then Matt Reid, in the early 1970s.
They steered mostly clear of football. There's evidence to support that certain members supported either Everton or Liverpool, but no definitive answer. Early in their career their manager advised them to steer clear of football so they wouldn't isolate half the city.
So far this season he has scored 1 goals. It is still incredibly early in the season though.

Kop End... The Spion Kop, apparently in the early history of Anfield there was just a steep hill which reminded Boar War veterans of the Spion Kop in South Africa, the scene of a famous battle. Christened by the locals, the name stuck. Liverpool is not the only British football club to have a Spion Kop or Kop but it's certainly the most famous and probably the first, all Liverpool Football Club supporters are known as Kopites.
