Hi Folks- I recently acquired a single signature "Babe Ruth" Baseball to broker for an estate. In order for you to receive the greatest value for the ball there are two things that I would suggest #1 - send it to PSA/DNA for authentication - The $150 cost is well worth giving your baseball the "seal of approval" for all prospective buyers. #2 Have PSA/DNA (California) GRADE the ball - this places it on an availability scale as to where it ranks with other similar balls.

Babe Ruth Single Signed BaseballOne of the most prized signatures in the hobby a Babe Ruth single signed baseball in general is worth about $6,000.-$10,000. Value may vary based on condition, and the type of authenticitythat accompanies the signature. The type of baseball will also effect the price with an Official American league baseball from Ruth's playing days being of the most value.

A baseball in poor condition with a weak signature could sell in the $4,000. price range or less, and a minty baseball with a strong signature could sell in the $15,000 price range or more.

A signature with the quotation marks around "Babe" typifies his pre-1928 autograph and will sell at a higher value as well.

If the signature is not properly authenticated the baseball could sell at half the market value or less. For more information and a sample of a Babe Ruth signature visit the the link I left below. This is a great Babe Ruth Lou Gehrig signed baseball that sold for about $25,000. The Babe Ruth autograph signed on the Baseball with the inscription: "I'll Punch Lou in the Nose"and the Lou Gehrig autograph signed on the Baseball with the inscription: "To my friend Kay from H.L. Gehrig The kid known as Lou" Check it out. -Steven KeyMan

Probably 5 grand. Memorabilia, especially baseballs, featuring the genuine autograph of Babe Ruth are highly sought by collectors and potentially very valuable. Unfortunately, they are also very often forged. Presuming authenticity, other key factors are: the placement and clarity of the signature, the type of ball (is it an "Official American League" ball), and the all-important condition of the ball and signature. Essentially, the bigger and bolder, the better. The provenance; the who, what, when and where of a signed ball's history, may also add value if documented. If genuine, your ball would be worth $1500 to as much as $6,000, depending on the aforementioned factors. With Autographs, a picture is truly worth the proverbial thousand words, and can save a lot of time in the authentication, appraisal, and selling process. Here is more input: * Likely several thousand dollars. The true value depends on many factors, including age and condition of the ball, condition and quality of the signature, and whether or not the signature has been authenticated. A signature with the quotation marks around "Babe" typifies his pre-1928 autograph and will sell at a higher value as well. To show that the baseball was signed in 1929 the ball might have to be dated by the Babe. This will be considered an inscription, and sell for more.
