The WNBA regular season begins in May. They start training in the beginning of May and start playing soon after. They play until July, when the finals are being held.
The WNBA was founded in 1996 and league play began in 1997.

Colorado doesn't have a WNBA team. When the NWBL was in existence, the Colorado Chill won its last two championships, but that league folded after the 2006 season. Then owner Dave King tried to bring a WNBA franchise to Colorado, but couldn't get enough investors together.
As of the 2008 season, twice (2003, 2006).
; It started in 1996, but didn't start playing untilll 1997, and it started in the United States.

Last year during the WNBA's off-season she played for a Euroleague club in Slovakia called Kosice (full name K CERO V.O.D.S. Košice). She has re-signed with them this year. Their season appears to run from late September/early October through the end of April. Since the WNBA season runs from mid-May training camp through mid-September she's basically playing basketball year round and probably doesn't get back to Wisconsin much. FYI most WNBA players choose to play overseas during their very long off-season, for varying combinations of wanting to play and wanting to pay their bills (the club leagues generally pay better than the WNBA).
