Nobody does, given that players almost never get hit in the groin, although if you think that you need to then you are fully permitted to.

The above answer is rigtht about the fact that nobody wears a cup but in my last 6 years of playing Rugby i have been tagged and hit in the ball 14 times and i have friends that get hit even more than that i know a guy who is lucky if he doesnt get hit in the balls once in a game so players get hit in the groin more often than thought about it just isn't noticed.

The answer is no, you don't need to and really shouldn't. You will get hit there, but you won't damage anything there without wearing a cup. Most of the time it will be an inadvertent leg or arm or something. I've been playing rugby for quite a few years and I've never walked away from the game wishing I had been wearing a cup, so I think you'll be perfectly safe without one.

I would recommend wearing one because rugby is a full contact sport, and "stuff" happens, i know some one who played rugby and his gonads were stepped on at full stride, when he was on the ground, it only took me that one story to wear one when i play.

No because they don't need it!

If you think there is a chance that you could get hit hard in the testicles, then yes. It really depends on the type of sport and position played. In any sport involving sticks or fast moving items like balls and pucks males should be wearing a cup.

A cup wouldn't be needed for track. A jockstrap would be a good idea though, as it keeps your genitals in place while you run.
