A followup to my question and the reason for the question: Prince Fielder, after last night's game in which he hit his 23rd HR and produced only his 45th RBI is now on pace to hit 40 HRs this season and have only 78 RBI.
In 2009 Prince Fielder led the National Legue in RBIs with 141, and Mark Teixeira led the American League with 122.
Don Drysdale, 19 RBIs, 1965
Helton, Ortiz, Fielder, Pujols, Giambi,
Fielder knocks the ball in fair territory
Lou Gehrig with 175 RBIs in 1927.
Prince Fielder's stats in the 2011 Major League Baseball All Star Game were having two at-bats and hitting a 3-run Homerun and therefore giving him a hit on the board, a run scored on the board and 3 RBIs on the board as well however he also left one man one base.
Hank Wilson holds the record for most RBIs in a single season with 191, set in 1930.
The player that won the Major League Basebal All Star Game MVP in 2011 was Prince Fielder of the Milwaukee Brewers, he had 2 official at-bats and went one for 2, scored a run and had 3 RBIs and the 3 RBIs were the result of hitting a Hoerun off of Wilson in the 4th inning without anyone out.
Through the 2008 season: 1) Babe Ruth of the New York Yankees in 1919, 1920, and 1921. 2) Cecil Fielder of the Detroit Tigers in 1990, 1991, and 1992.
