Instruction in Self Defense and Martial Arts is best done with a qualified instructor present. I'd be happy to teach a seminar on self-defense as I do several times a year, but I'm not going to do it over the internet!

Kata are the foundation of karate. They each attempt to communicate certain techniques and fighting styles. Typically they are taught one or two at a time, allowing the student to absorb them and build their skill on those techniques. It would be too overwhelming to teach all of them to a white belt.

There are many classes and institutions available in London that are willing to teach defensive fighting techniques to those interested. Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and boxing are just some of the styles that one London institution, the London Fight Factory, offers. There are plenty more styles for those interested, whether it be for defensive purposes only or for a hobby.
There are countless techniques in combat throughout the planet, many of which are unknown and unpracticed in society and more are being invented. There will never be a TRUE answer to ALL the fighting techniques of the world.

A flip is a gymnastic move, so you would want to find gymnastic teacher to show you how to roll and flip around. All martial arts teach throws at some level or another. Striking arts teach grappling techniques and grappling arts teach striking techniques.
