As of now the answer is NO. Toyota was a decently successful formula 1 team which was the leader of the mid-field cars in the season. However, due to the economic problems and recession the Toyota Motorcorp, the owning company decided to cut costs and leave F1. In future, if the Toyota Motor Company is able to make a good profit and feel that F1 exposure is good for business, they may come back but as of now, there is no news of them returning to F1.
He is likely to come back in 2012
The sponsor for Toyota is Panasonic the computer makers. But now Toyota have pulled out of F1 in 2009.
It was their 2005 car called the Toyota-01 or someting like that.
2002 was the first year that Toyota Racing had its own formula one team so, 2002 would be the year that Toyota built its formula 1 car by itself. They competed in 140 races before winding up their formula one team in 2009. Toyota F1 team never won a race or any championships. But, they managed to finish on the podium 13 times and were one of the strong mid-field teams in f1.
it was Toyota but it is now cosworth
hello friend!! first of all...now we don't even have to worry about Toyota being in formula 1 because the Japanese auto maker already said goodbye to Formula 1 after the end of 2009 season...and secondly ill answer your question...well you see Toyota motor company in japan.....owns TRD (Toyota racing development) in the USA...and on the other hand they also own a headquater in Germany which is known as Toyota Motorsports GmBH....TRD in USA is responsible for Toyota's involved in NASCAR and for the development of Toyota/Lexus road cars high performance parts...on the other hand Toyota Motorsports GmBh in Germany is the major headquater of Toyota Motorsports.......which previously was responsible for Toyota's involvement in World Rally Championship,CART series,24 hours of Lemans and from 2001 to 2009 they were responsible for the involvement of Toyota in the worlds most premier motorsports series Formula 1....so the main reason that TRD couldn't take over Toyota's F1 project was because they are already very very busy with NASCAR...and if for example Toyota F1 team would have been under TRD it wouldn't have been a Grand prix winner or something....because Toyota wasnt the rite manufacturer to succced in Formula 1!!! Hopes this info helps!!!
