2002 was the first year that Toyota Racing had its own formula one team so, 2002 would be the year that Toyota built its formula 1 car by itself. They competed in 140 races before winding up their Formula One team in 2009. Toyota F1 team never won a race or any championships. But, they managed to finish on the podium 13 times and were one of the strong mid-field teams in f1.
It was their 2005 car called the Toyota-01 or someting like that.
