I think one needs to play at least 10 league games to qualify for a League Champions medal. Larsson did not play more than 5 games for United. So NO medal for his efforts.. Henrik Larsson played 12 games for Manchester United, 7 in the league, three in the FA Cup and twice in the Champions League, scoring three goals. One does in fact need to play 10 league games to be eligible for a medal. However, on occassion, the club can make a special medal for a player if they deem that he has contributed well to the club. For example, in 1997, Jordi Cruyff had played 8 games, and hence was ineligible for a medal, but the club sent him one anyway. Larsson was given a medal by the club for his efforts. Vice versa applies. David Batty famously rejected his medal in 1995 when Blackburn won the premiership; he said he didnt play enough to deserve one.
