Why is Lotus F1 not good in 2010?

It is their first season in F1, they don't have as much money as the many of the other teams do, there is a rule banning testing in F1 that doesn't allow them to try out new parts and configurations until the free practices on Friday before the race, the Cosworth engine isn't as good as the Renault or Ferrari or Mercedes, the Xtrac gear box is unrealiable, and on and on.

Lotus announced a few days ago that they will be partnering with Red Bull and using Red Bull's gear box and hydraulic systems in 2011. They have ended their association with Cosworth and will be using Renault engines in 2011. With a better engine and more reliable gear box, Lotus should be much better in the upcoming season.
