because you get a second serve if you mess it up and if you mess up both serves the other opponent gets the point

∙ 13y agoYou don't NEED two balls to play tennis, it's just helpful to have another in your pocket to not spend an extra 30 minutes chasing tennis balls.

To play tennis, basically all you need is a racket your size, tennis balls, tennis court shoes and tennis balls. Very Simple.
To play tennis.
New tennis balls are considered fresh and not "flat". Old tennis balls exposed to play and air become flat and do not perform normally in a match.
Tennis racket, court, balls, appropriate clothes, and a partner to play with.
All you need is: Tennis balls (one or more - usually 3 is good) A Tennis Racket A Tennis court (with proper measures, marks and net) A partner - or 3 if you want to play doubles :)
There are so many Chinese that play ping pong that I think there may be more table tennis balls.
You'll need to bring a pair of tennis shoes (sneakers, as long as they're appropriate to run in, work fine) as well as tennis balls and tennis rackets. Bring water, too, as you'll need it after a few sets.

The answer to this question depends greatly on the level of play. Basic things, however, would be at least two tennis racquets, at least one can of tennis balls, and tennis shoes. Other items to consider would be a towel, water, sun block, sunglasses, a hat or visor, and/or clothing with pockets.
