Yes, Babe Ruth did call his shot in the 1932 World Series against the Chicago Cubs.
Yes. In his biography of the Babe, Tom Meany said he believed it to be a corruption of "Judge," a nickname hung on outsized athletes. But another source says it's a corruption of Ruth's square name, George, by a teammate who had a friend named George who was called "Jidge." Meany says the Yankees also called him "Jidgey."

Yes! He did call his shot. That's what I think. It the biggest mystery in sports history so some people say yes like me, but some say no which really ruins the excitement for me........yes, he did call the shot at Wrigley Field :)
"The King Of Swing"One of the many nicknames Babe Ruth had was the "The King Of Swing" Swing as in swinging a Bat not "Swing" as in music. He was never called the King of Rock and Roll. The King of Rock-n-Roll would be Elvis Presley.
5th inning of Game 3 of the 1932 World Series against the Chicago Cubs.
Babe Ruth's first MLB game was July 11, 1914. He pitched seven innings against the Cleveland Indians and left with the score tied 3-3. The Red Sox pinch hit for Ruth in the bottom of the 7th and scored a run which turned out to be the game winner as the Red Sox won 4-3. Ruth was credited with the win. He batted twice in the game, striking out and flying out to right field.
Leo Durocher, a teammate of the Babe's in 1928 and 1929. Durocher's brashness and abrasive personality rubbed many of the Yankees players the wrong way and precipitated his trade to the Reds prior to the 1930 season.
He loved baseball, kids, food, (perferably hot dogs) drinking, smoking, girls, (or you could just call it vices) and his wife for a while.
