well with Ballet you should start before you 20. And boys are put off by tutus and things like that when they are young. So by the time they are 20 and realise that ballet is not JUST for girls then they willl consider it. But they probably won't become a pro since they are quite old. BUt they might!

Anyone can dance ballet! :D It's more common for females, but males do too, and they're a very important part of ballet.
Ballet was originally invented for men but over time girls have taken over.
In French, males are called "danseur"; females are called "danseuse." In Italian, males are called "danzatore;" females are called "danzatrice."

Yes. Though the percentage of males compared to females is much smaller, there are many male ballet dancers. Alternatively, you can read the article attached in the link bellow.
Of course! They may not get to do the same steps but most proffetional ballets need boys.

It was originally designed, as all sports and most things back in the dark ages, for men only. But this is back when ballet wasn't really... "ballet." Ballet like it is now. Evolution is a natural process for anything. But ballet was originally ballroom dancing in big, heavy, clunky costumes. The shoes had heels and they were like work-boots. Over time, ballet became lighter, most graceful. Acrobatic. Gymnastic. And thus it became more of a sport for women. One that the women themselves would really be more equipped for, to excel at. It was for the boys... then it was ALL about the girls.But... the boys seem to be finding their way back in.

Many more males are applying for ballet schools than ever before. The demands on the body to remain fit to dace are high. Its much better to seek a local ballet school and go and speak to the tutor. They will always encourage males as males are in demand due to the stereotypical vision of many males regarding dance. In addition being in a class environment you will be learning basics and group dance which is important plus to have private lessons would be vastly expensive
It depends on the uniform of the ballet school, although the most typical uniform is a leotard and tights for females and a shirt, dance belt, and tights for males.
