Evolution is a natural process for anything. But ballet was originally ballroom dancing in big, heavy, clunky costumes. The shoes had heels and they were like work-boots. Over time, ballet became lighter, most graceful. Acrobatic. Gymnastic. And thus it became more of a sport for women. One that the women themselves would really be more equipped for, to excel at. It was for the boys... then it was ALL about the girls.
