Which famous martial arts movie star is a friend of the Kevin Rudd?
His greatest inspiration to become a Martial Arts movie star was his idol Bruce Lee. He said that he learned everything important for martial arts from Bruce Lee and his films. Another inspiration outside the cinema is his belief in Buddhism. Jackie Chan is Buddhist and Buddhism however is an inspiration in his behaviour.
Bruce Lee starred in a variety of films during the course of his career. He starred in "The Big Boss," "Fist of Fury," "Enter the Dragon," and "Game of Death," for example.
Once he arrived in the United States, he waited tables for a while and then went to college. He taught martial arts and was often criticized for teaching non-Chinese the martial arts. Then he got into acting and acted in TV in the US and movies in Hong Kong.
Donnie Yen was a Hong Kong action star and martial artist born in China. He is well known for his knowledge of martial arts and his role in many martial arts films and series.
I believe you're thinking of Jet Li.

Bruce has 2 children named Shannon and Brandon, a girl and a boy respectively. Shannon has done a few martial arts films, hosted a couple Bruce Lee marathons and publicly speaks on her father's behalf, but mostly stays out of the limelight. Brandon went on to be a successful martial arts film star and died on set making The Crow due to an accidental discharge of a dummy round from a pistol.
Michael Chiklis has had very informal training in several arts. This would be no different than any other star that has trained in action movies other than known martial artist legends such as Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, Steven Seagal, etc. Chiklis has played in several movies and tv shows. All of the techniques he would have learned would have been used for his acting career only. For The shield, he had informal training in Aikido, Jiujitsu, and basic striking arts. He has no rank in the martial arts community. It was all done for show.
