A Point guard, or PG, also called the play maker or "the ball-handler", is one of the standard positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position - essentially, he is expected to run the team's offense by controlling the ball and making sure that it gets to the right players at the right time. Above all, the point guard must totally understand and accept his or her coach's game plan; in this way, the position can be compared to a quarterback in American football.
In my opinoin currently derrick rose but dont count out magic johnson he played all positions

Mostly the point guard but all the players are a big part of it
John Stockton is the greatest point guard of all time holding the NBA records for assists and steals. Just like a quarterback, point guards are judged on their passing ability, not how many touchdowns (points) they score.
That would most likely be Allen Iverson. He is one of the all-time scorers in the NBA, and he played the point guard position. He has generally been known as a clutch player. In the future, stephen curry.
