The most famous athlete from Alaska is power forward Carlos Boozer. Mr. Boozer grew up in Juneau. He played college baskeyball at Duke University, scoring 600 points in the 2001-02 season and helping to win the 2001 NCAA mens' Basketball championship. After two years with the Cleveland Cavaliers, his contract was picked up by the Utah Jazz, where he plays today. He has been a pro basketball player for eight years.
Among Boozer's accomplishments are two trips to the NBA All-Star Game, an Olympic bronze medal from the 2004 Games and a gold medal from the 2008 Games.
