Who is better redsox or Yankees?

This is the last straw. I tried to be fair to Boston, but the Red Sux Nation is just not being fair. Of course the Yankees, given their 26 World Series Championships (Boston has 7), 5 straight championships between 1949 and 1953 (Boston didn't achieve that), 39 AL Pennants (more than Boston of course), and Yankees fans are not afraid to talk about their past (For Boston, past does not mean 1919-2003). Boston also has fans with lower intelligence and very little manners (please refer to the previous edits if you can), and to sum it up, I think 26 is more than 7, isn't it?

The question is somewhat ambiguous ... it asks which team is 'better' but specifies no time frame. If the time frame is the history of the American League, common sense says the Yankees. If the time frame is the last 5-6 years, common sense says the Red Sox. If the time frame is this season, who knows how the season will end.

Regardless, this question has been closed due to the unprofessional contributions tendered to it. When tempers calm and we realize that Baseball is a game meant for entertainment and not verbal abuse, the question shall be reopened. Or better yet, modified to specify a time frame so that sniping and nitpicking does not occur.
