The wing attack in netball is allowed in the centre third and the shooting third of their team only, they are not allowed in the goal circle
The wing attack is only allowed in the centre third and in the goal third where they start. BUT NOT in the shooting semi-circle
Goal Defenders, or GD's as they are commonly known as, are allowed in their third, including the shooting circle (or 'D' as it is also known as) and the centre third
Goal Defence and the opposing Goal Attack
GA or goal attack is allowed in the centre third, the goal third that there team is shooting on and the goal circle on that third of the court.
The GA can go in the middle third and their teams shooting third. They are allowed in the shooting circle to shoot and can run out for the centre pass. They play against the oppositions GD (goal deffense) and it is one of the most important positions in netball.

There are 7 positions in a netball game on each team. They are;Centre(C)Wing Attack(WA)Wing Defence(WD)Goal Attack(GA)Goal Defence(GD)Goal Shooter(GS)Goal Keeper(GK)The centre person starts in the small circle in the middle of the court. Centre is allowed every where apart from the 2 shooting semi- circles at either end of the court.Wing Attack is allowed in the 'attacking' (or their shooting end) 2/3rds of the court, but not in either semi-circle. If you are shooting towards the right, then they are allowed in the centre 3rd and the attacking 3rd to the right, but not in the semi-circles.Exactly the same applies for Wing Defence, except that they are only allowed in the defending 2/3rds end - and of course not in the semi-circles.Goal attack is a shooter and is also allowed in the attacking 2/3rds of the court - the difference being that they are allowed in the attacking semi-circle to shoot.Goal defence is as in the Goal attack, but they defend the defending two-thirds and are allowed into the semi-circle to defend against the opposing shooter.Goal shooter is allowed into the attacking third only and they are allowed into the attacking semi-circle in order to score the goals. The Goal Keeper is allowed into the defending third only, and they are also allowed into the semi-cirlce to defend against the shooter.

Goal Attack GA)- is allowed in the goal circleand in the center third. The role is to shoot goals and bring the ball down to the goal shooter.Goal Shooter GS)- is allowed in the goal circle and the offense goal third. The role is to shoot goals.Center(C)- is allowed in all the thirds but not in any of the goal circles. the role is to bring the ball down to the goal circle so the team can shoot.Wing Attack(WA)- is allowed in the centre third and the defence goal third but not in the goal circle. The role is to help bring the ball down to the goal circle so their team has the chance to shoot.Wing Defence(WD)- is allowed in the center third and the defense gaol third but not in the goal circle. The role is to try and get the ball back to there side of the court if the other team has the ball.Goal Defence(GD)- is allowed in the center third and the defense goal third and the goal circle. try to defend the ball and get it down the other end of the court.Goal Keeper(GK)- is allowed in the goal circle and in the defense goal third. the role is to defend the goals if the other team is shooting and pass it down the court to where their team is shooting.
