Gil McDougald. In the bottom of the 6th inning in Game 7, Billy Martin and McDougald reached base to start the inning. Berra came to the plate and, being a left handed pull hitter, left fielder Sandy Amoros was shading him towards left center. Berra sliced a drive down the left field line that Amoros caught on the dead run. Amoros fired the ball to Pee Wee Reese who relayed it to Gil Hodges at first to double off McDougald.
