Yes Nations that have hosted (or will have hosted) the Olympics more than once include:United StatesGermanyCanadaGreat BritainJapanRussia (USSR)AustriaFranceSouth KoreaNorwayGreeceItalyAustraliaSwitzerland
In 2012, London will have hosted the Olympic Games 3 times.
Including the 2012 Olympics in London, UK, 6 countries have hosted the Olympics more than once. They are; Greece (1986 & 2004) France (1900 & 1924) USA (1904, 1932, 1984 & 1996) UK (1908, 1948 & 2012) Germany (1936 & 1972*) Australia (1956 & 2000) *the 1972 games were held in West Germany, as at the time the country was still split into East and West Germany
Once in 1980.
No German city has hosted the Olympics more than once. Berlin hosted the Summer Games in 1936, Garmisch-Partenkirhen hosted the Winter Games in 1936, and Munich hosted the Summer Games in 1972. Berlin was scheduled to host the 1916 Games but they were cancelled due to World War I.
Taiwan, or Chinese Taipei as it is recognised by the International Olympic Committee, has never hosted the Olympics. In fact technically a country never hosts the Olympics; they are awarded to a city. So, for instance, London, of which the British are justifiably proud, has hosted the games three times, but the USA has hosted the games more times, as they have been awarded to various cities (St Louis, Los Angeles twice, Atlanta, Lake Placid twice, Squaw Valley and Salt Lake City). If the games were ever to be held in Taiwan, they would probably be awarded to Taipei, which is Taiwan's biggest city.
YES! Canadians should be very proud to have hosted the Olympics not once, but TWICE. Montreal Olympics is our proudest because we, as a country, was recognized and seen fit to host them.
China have only held the Olympics once and that was in Beijing in 2008
3 times (twice in Los Angeles and once in Squaw Valley).
Once in Garmisch Partenkirchen, Bavaria, Germany in 1936.
Scotland has never hosted the Olympics.
