The British GP was first held in a circuit called Brooklands in 1926. Silverstone has been an entrant in the yearly F1 race season as early as 1950 and has been the venue for the British Grand Prix. Even the Donnington Park circuit was expected to host the British GP but unfortunately they could not gather enough funds and so the idea was dropped.
Provided that the funding for 2010, the British Grand Prix will have been held at 4 different venues, Donington Park, Silverstone, Brands Hatch and Aintree. The French Grands Prix have also been held at Magny-Cours, Paul Ricard, Dijon-Prenois and Rouen-les-Essarts to name but some venues. Spain has held Grands Prix at Pedralbes, Montjuich Park, Jarama, Jerez and Barcelona.

Silverstone. Whether justified, of course, is a matter of one's point of view, but Silverstone has hosted the British F1 Grand Prix more times than any other venue, and was the venue for the very first official F1 World Championship grand Prix in 1950. Other venues have been Brands Hatch and Aintree and the "European Grand Prix" has been held at Donington Park.
