Is there any value to a 1961 NYY last game last out by Roger Maris baseball?

There is some value to the ball, assuming it can be authenticated as used in the last NYY game from 1961. Autographed by Maris would be even better but, alas, that is now impossible. Please send me an email so we can discuss further. There may be significant value depending solely on the provenance of this ball - in other words, the "who, what, when and where" of its history and how it was obtained. All information documenting the assertion its from Maris' record-breaking game would only enhance its value. Please drop me a line at stockyard2000@aol.com to discuss its value further.

Who caught Hank Aaron's record breaking home run?

What is the value of the ball that Mark McGwire hit to break roger maris' record?

The groundskeeper Tom Forneris retrieved Mark McGwire's home run ball number 62 (1998). The baseball was returned to McGwire, and was later sent to the baseball HOF in Cooperstown. Therefore a value cannot be put on the baseball. The year Mark McGwire broke Roger Maris's record in 1998 McGwire hit 70 Home runs, and hit 65 the following year in 1999. Mark McGwire's 63rd Home Run ball sold for $50,000. at the same auction that saw McGwire's 70th Home Run ball sell at a record $3 million in 1999. Keep in mind this is also before the steroid scandal, and both baseballs might sell at a much lower price today.

What is the value of a 1961 baseball autographed by Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris with 1961 also inscribed on it?

A Mickey Mantle, Roger Maris Dual signed baseball is worth about $3,000.-$5,000. Price will vary based on condition, type of authenticity that accompanies the signatures. If both signatures are on the sweet spot it will have a higher value or at least being able to view both signatures at the same time when the ball is displayed. If both signatures cannot be viewed when the baseball is displayed (signed on different panels) then it could have a lower value. The baseball being signed in 1961 will only have added value if it was inscribed by either player on the baseball. Otherwise the added value will rely on your ability to prove that it was signed in 1961.In an auction held in October 2007 a Mickey Mantle, Roger Maris Dual signed baseball sold for $4,780.00 (Mantle on sweet spot).Signatures that have not been authenticated could sell at half the market value or less.

What is the value of a baseball signed by Roger Maris and the other St. Louis Cardinals in good condition?

According to the collector's price guide, "Team Baseballs," your ball is worth between $200-275, with value being greater or lower depending on exact year and players present - in particular, the inclusion or exclusion of Roger Maris and pitcher Bob Gibson, 1968's MVP and Cy Young award winner - plus the all-important overall condition of the ball and autographs. Other key factors include type of ball (is it an "Official National League" ball?), whether there are any "clubhouse signatures" (autographs signed by ballboys, attendants, etc), and number of signatures present. The authenticity of the Maris signature is of particular importance, as he was known to use "ghost-signers." These factors, plus the authenticity of the all the significant signatures are the main variables in determining value.

Who signed a baseball with a x when asked by a man at a Yankees game in 1950s?

Many years ago, I heard a story on WGN Radio that Roger Maris once signed a ball for a kid with an "X" to see what the boy's reaction would be - intending to give him a real signature after the kid saw the X and said "Hey, what the heck?" But Maris never got to see the kid's face … because he ran off before looking at it and Maris never had a chance to change his signature.
