According to the NCAA record book (http://www.ncaa.org/library/records/Basketball/m_basketball_records_book/2008/2008_m_basketball_records.pdf), John Rinka's average his senior year was 41.0 points per game and that ranks #8 all time. The top 10 are as follows: * Player - School - Division - Year - Avg # Bevo Francis ------- Rio Grande ------ II - 1954 - 46.5

# Pete Maravich ----- LSU ---------------- I - 1970 - 44.5

# Pete Maravich ----- LSU ---------------- I - 1969 - 44.2

# Pete Maravich ----- LSU ---------------- I - 1968 - 43.8

# Earl Glass ---------- Miss. Industrial - II - 1963 - 42.9

# Frank Selvy -------- Furman ----------- I - 1954 - 41.7

# Earl Monroe ------- Winston-Salem - II - 1967 - 41.5

# John Rinka --------- Kenyon ---------- II - 1970 - 41.0

# Willie Shaw -------- Lane ------------- II - 1964 - 40.4

# Johnny Neumann - Mississippi ------- I - 1971 - 40.1

John was my teammate for my Sophomore, Junior and Senior years (I graduated in 1969) and he was truly amazing. He was only 5-9, but it didn't matter how tall his opponents were; none of them could stop him. It's too bad we didn't have the 3-point field goals in those days because the majority of John's shots were from outside the NBA's 3-point line. Combined with our other guard, John Dunlop, who averaged 22.6 to go along with Rinka's 32.8, they were incredible to watch, let alone play with.
