redskins is a name for native Americans. Native Americans highly dissaprove of Indian mascots and once sued the Washington redskins.
The term redskin has often been used as a pejorative against Native Americans. Its use is a subject of controversy, particularly in regard to Washington's football team.
yes. very healthy.
The term "Redskin" was probably a negative racist term when it was used by the whites in the 1600s through the 1900s. It is not a term used today. But in the previous centuries white man and woman were afraid of the Native Americans and were amazed at how dark the skin of the Natives was. They claimed it looked like redskin (meaning very tan). Eventually many did refer to the Indians with vehemence as "Redskins". But the reference wore off over time. If you say "Redskins" today you are referring to a sports team not the color of the skin of the Indians.
No. The Redskin Cheerleaders have no record of Michaele Salahi nee Michaele Holt ever being a Redskin Cheerleader.
Actually it means An American Indian. Example: we never hated a redskin.
The choice to name the Redskins this way occurred roughly a century ago, when the term was not viewed as being racist.
Redskin refers to the scalp of Indians(First Nations People). In US history frontiersmen would sell beaver pelts and redskins to many leaders of the European invasion. Redskin represent the death, murder and genocide of a people. That's why it is offensive.
There are many places where one could go to purchase Redskin highlights. The best place where one could get Redskin highlights would be the television channel ESPN.
