The Arizona Cardinals originally started in Chicago and played there from their founding in 1898 through 1943. In 1944 because of the large number of players enlisting in WWII, the Chicago and Pittsburgh Teams combined to become Card-Pitt in 1944. The following year they returned to Chicago and played there from 1945 through 1959. The team then moved to St.Louis and played there from 1960 through 987. The franchise then moved to Phoenix in 1988 and played under the name Phoenix Cardinals until 1993. In 1994 they changed their name to the Arizona Cardinals and have remained in Arizona to the present day.
