Brawn F1 is a team in the 2009 F1 racing season. The team is owned by Ross Brawn, the ex technical director of the Honda F1 Team. When the Honda team declared that it is not going to compete in 2009, Ross Brawn offered to take over the team and that is how the Brawn Racing team was formed. Currently Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello are the two drivers of the team in the 2009 season.
2009 - Brawn and Jenson Button
All formula one cars are fast. This year the Brawn Mercedes and the Red Bull Renault are two of the fastest F1 cars this season. The 2002 BMW F1 car is considered to be one of the fastest F1 cars in terms of straight line speed
new regulations in 2009 limited the revs from 19,000rpm to 18,000rpm
Yes.Simply stated, the F1 World Championship is given to the driver that scores the most points in the season and Button scored the most points. He deserves to be recognized as 2009 World Champion.Going a little deeper, it is obvious that Brawn's car design, especially that of the rear diffuser, had a lot to do with Button winning 6 of the first 7 races in the 2009 season. Brawn's cars were faster than that of McLaren and Ferrari and the other teams that ran the KERS energy package. As the season progressed and the other teams modified their cars, the gap between Brawn and the other teams lessened considerably. The F1 ban on in season testing also had a lot to do with Brawn's dominance in the first half of the season as changes made to the car could not be tested until practice time on race weekends. Brawn's fast start put the other teams in a difficult position, one that the 2009 rules made that much more difficult to deal with.Regardless, Brawn played by the rules and their driver won the championship. He deserves a pat on the back and his hand raised in victory.
Jenson Button's Brawn GP car is called the Brawn BGP 001. It has a chassis made by the Brawn GP F1 team and a engine supplied by Mercedes - Benz.
Jenson Button (England) won the 2009 F1 World Championship with the Brawn GP team scoring 95 points. It is a remarkable achievement because he was left unemployed earlier in the year when his former team, Honda Racing F1 pulled out of the championship due to the global economic crisis but luckily the former Honda Racing F1 team principal, Ross Brawn bought out the team and he renamed it 'Brawn GP', Jenson was given one of the seats (the other seat went to Rubens Barrichello) and both drivers dominated throughout the season and they finished one-two in the championship.
Red Bull teammates at 1st and 2nd positions; S.Vettel and M.Webber 3rd place Jenson Button, Brawn GP on the 1st November 2009.
No, according to an interview prior to the 2009 F1 season, Brawn said ... "It is our own gearbox. We converted the gearbox to mount on the Mercedes-Benz engine because all the rear suspension, we wanted to carry that over." Yes next Saturday and Sunday the November 1st 2009 weekend is the last race of the 2009 F1 season to be held in Abu Dhabi - Dubai. Jenson Button of Brawn GP has already won the drivers championship and Brawn GP have won the constructors title.
Orginally Honda, Ross Brawn (former technical director at Benetton & Ferrari) jojned them as technical director in 2007 - but Honda pulled out and the team was left on brink of collapse until he personally bought the team early this and turned it into 'Brawn GP'. Brawn now use the highly successful Mercedes-Benz engines (like many oher F1 teams this season).
