As the season progressed and the other teams modified their cars, the gap between Brawn and the other teams lessened considerably. The F1 ban on in season testing also had a lot to do with Brawn's dominance in the first half of the season as changes made to the car could not be tested until practice time on race weekends. Brawn's fast start put the other teams in a difficult position, one that the 2009 rules made that much more difficult to deal with.Regardless, Brawn played by the rules and their driver won the championship. He deserves a pat on the back and his hand raised in victory.
