Political gymnastics
The age minimum requirement for women's gymnastics is that a female must turn 16 by the end of the calendar year if she wants to compete in the Olympics.
The International Federation of Gymnastics has a requirement of an athlete turning 16 years old in the Olympic year to compete. Figure skating has an age requirement of turning 15 by July 1 of the year before the Winter Olympics to compete. Other than that, there are no age requirements.

The International Gymnastics Federation first accepted rythmic gymnastics as a sport in 1962. In 1963 it had its first world championships. In 1984 it was in the Olympics as an individual sport and in 1996 as a team sport.
