Figure skating may not look like a sport but it is extremely physically demanding.
Ice skating is more just skating for fun and figure skating is doing spins and jumps Ice skating is any type of skating and figure skating is dancing on ice Whoever put that is wrong! Ice Skating is a sport that just sums up every thing you do on ice... it is a category of all the skating activities on ice! True figure skating is like dancing and spinning (i should know i have won a figure skating Competition!) But it is just a category!
Figure skating is a type of ice skating. It's like asking "Is a Ferrari more popular than a car?" A Ferrari is a type of car. Ice skating includes figure skating, speed skating, ice dancing, ice hockey, any type of activity where you move across the ice on skates. So, ice skating would have more participants because it includes more activities than just figure skating.
yes, eg 6.3. Like surfing!
ummm there are no players in figure skating. its not a game, but there are competitors, like Patrick Chan, cythia phaneuf, yuna kim, saha cohen , etc.
Until you get into serious competition, these are excellent skates. You did not mention your age (very wise) but given the fact that you are taking lessons for ice skating and will be taking figure skating lessons, you are a young person. Skates are like shoes...you grow out of them. So even though the boots have plastic heels, they are still excellent boots until you need new ones. Depending on your age, you will probably need new boots about every 6-9 months, considering your growth rate. So the serious competition boots aren't necessary until you actually start in competitions. Relax and have fun with your new vocation!
they were invented when the people back in the days first started to relize that the ice would be a good thing for sports like hockey, ice skating(etc). Figure skaters usually ice skate and while they ice skate they do a type of performance to win prizes they join compotitions and compete against other people around the world. Figure skating uniforms were created by first making normal clothing wear but people added a little more style into it and after a couple of years of learning style they created many different types of these figure skating uniforms.
Figure Skating is a sport that needs alot of hard work and determation. It has changed from the earliest years because it focuses mainly on the tricks instead of the edges. Figure Skating is also very expensive, You have to pay for ice time, coaches, competitions, test sessions, skates, blades, costumes etc
