Do you have to be a certain weight or body type to be a scuba diver?

No, you don't need a certain body type to scuba dive. Because you use flippers to SCUBA dive, you can be a very lousy swimmer and learn to SCUBA dive. You may look stupid with a very tight wet suit during scuba diving, but you can dive. When I got certified, I learned that you have a very slightly higher chance of the Bends during scuba diving, but this is a small percentage. The pros of scuba diving outweigh the cons.

What type of pressure is to do with diving?

Is scuba diving when the tanks are floating on top of the water if not what type of diving is it when the tanks float on top?

Its not really scuba diving but its considered scuba diving. Also known as the hookah system. its when you have a gas powered motor pumping fresh air to the person or person's diving below, there can be up to four people diving off of one hookah system. the benefit of this system is that there is no decompression time and you can be underwater pretty much all day if someone fills the gas tank on the engine pumping air. but you are kinda tied down to something so i don't think its true scuba diving.

What type of verbal is to scuba dive?

It is very hard to, but you can. You mostly communicate with hand signals in scuba diving, however. There are expensive tools to communicate with a type of 2-way radio underwater.AdditionActually you can. There are several ways. One is through bone conduction, If you place your chin on the other divers head and then talk, you can be understood. If you are close to their ear, you can also just talk. And still another way is if you have a glove, you can take it off and fill it with air and then talk into the glove. Of course the closer you are to their ear the easier they can understand you. If you are wearing hoods, these methods are more difficult to be understood.

Is scuba equipment and an aqualung the same thing?

No. Scuba refers to any form of Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus. An aqualung is a type of scuba equipment, but a rebreather is also technically scuba equipment, as would any other self contained underwater diving rig. However, surface supplied diving is not regarded as scuba. In common terms "scuba equipment" is often used as a generic term for diving equipment, so as to include non-breathing apparatus, like a diver's mask or fins.

Is scuba diving a type of science?

The best answer is probably no. Safe scuba diving relies heavily on a knowledge of physics, gas laws and even physiology. Since it generally takes place in the ocean, it often involves marine biology. In that respect scuba is far more reliant on science than most other activities. Generally, though, scuba is a recreational activity for most divers and a vocation for others.
