The first time Ice Hockey was included in the Olympics was in 1920 at the summer games in Antwerp, Belgium. In 1924, at the first Winter Olympic Games in Chamonix, France, Ice Hockey became an official, permanent sport in the Winter Olympics. At both games Canada won the gold medal. They went on to win 6 out of the 7 first ice hockey medals in the Olympics. Women's Ice Hockey was later introduced in 1998 in Nagano, Japan where the United States women's hockey team won the gold medal.
The national team's first Olympics was the 1936 Games in Berlin where they finished in 5th place.
Women's football debuted at the 1996 Games in Atlanta.

There is evidence that basketball was played in Australia as far back as 1905, but known one really knows for sure when it was first introduced there. In 1956, the Australian men's basketball team competed in the Olympics for the first time during the Olympic Games at Melbourne.
The first Philippine basketball team to compete in the Olympics was at the 1936 Summer Games in Berlin .... they finished 5th.

In volleyball, there is a coin toss to decide which team gets to serve first. Whichever team wins the coin toss gets to serve first in the first set. The other team automatically gets to serve first in the next set. The first team then gets to serve first in the third set should there be one.
