Skates. That's why it's called figure skating. What did you expect?
The equipments for figure skating differ. Of course, skates. For the skates you will need guards to protect your blades. If you are planning to compete you will need skates, outfits, music, and lots of support and practice, partner if working with someone, coach, skating rink, and a bunch of happiness.
the similarities between speed skating and figure skating is that 1- they have to do forward crossovers when turning 2- they use ice skates 3- they have to know the basics of ice skating 4- they are capable of going to the olympics
Figure skating is a sport, and you do not need to have any particular education to be a figure skater, though I would recommend getting an education in case the figure skating career doesn't turn out as you had hoped.

yes you can get figure skates but you can also figure skate in normal skates aswell xx
You can train for figure skating at your town/city's arena. Training for figure Skating can vary. You need to learn the basics of the sport, the jumps and spins, and the stuff inbetween also known as foot work. Every skater is different. It may take longer for someone to land a simple axel jump than for another.
Basically just figure skates! Stretchy athletic clothing or figure skating dresses are the usual attire.
Practice sculls(A.K.A. fishes),stroking, dips, backward skating, and stops (snowplow stops).
Get inline skates. Same idea with no need for ice.
I'm a figure skater and I practice in a warm zip sweater, long tee, and figure skating pants (they're kind of tight and thin; you can get them at most pro shops at the ice arena) with different colored leg warmers and my hair up. When I compete I wear tights and short figure skating dresses with my hair in a bun.
skates (obviously), stretchy pants (like yoga pants or underarmor), or a skating dress. If you are just skating, you can pretty much wear anything. (Including skates, of corse)
A Lot because you need the practice to compete with the Pros.
