There is no world record for the 8 mile run. It is not an official event recognized by the IAAF. I'm not even aware that the event is raced enough to have any significant representative world best.
If you are not familiar with track speak...
No one races it, so no one cares.
The world record for an 8 mile run is 33 minutes and 22 seconds, set by Peter Arriola in 2017.
The men's world record for the two mile run is held by Daniel Komen of Kenya. His time was 7:58. 61. For women the record is 8:58. 58 which is held by Meseret Defar from Ethiopia.
The world record for a woman's two mile race is 8 minutes and 58.58 seconds, set by Meseret Defar of Ethiopia in 2007.
There are no official records for the 1.5 mile distance, but considering that the 2 mile "world best" is less than 8 minutes, if there was a record it would be less than 6 minutes. Combining the times for 1000m and 1500m gives a minimum estimate for 2500m (1.55 mi) of between 5 minutes, 38 seconds and 5 minutes 48 seconds.
If you run 7.5 miles per hour, you will run 1 mile in 8 minutes. 60 / 7.5 = 8
You would have to run 60 ÷ 8 = 7.5 mph.
Through February, 2009 the women's world record for the mile run is 4:12.56 set by Svetlana Masterkova of Russia on August 14, 1996.
On June 8th, 1962 Jim Beatty ran the world record for the 2 mile distance with a time of 8:29.8.

It was Steve Ovett's world record in 1978 at Crystal Palace I believe, with a time of 8 Mins13.5secs. I know this record stood for some years but has it been beaten? the world record 7:58.61 by Daniel Komen in 1997 the indoor world record is 8:04.35, by Kenenisa Bekele in 2008
7.5mph

John Smith is still credited with the fastest 440 yards (quarter mile) based on his 44.5 hand timed World Record in the 1971 AAU Championship meet. The race is defunct and is rarely run by top athletes. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Smith_(athlete)The much more common and the practical answer is Michael Johnson who holds the World Record in the 400 meters, about 8 feet less than a quarter mile, in 43.18, set August 26, 1999http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVL7QLHn5y4
