These are called "flagrant fouls" they result in free throws. Or arguing with the referee. Swing your fist at another player or even your own team mates. Both coaches and players can get technical fouls.

There are personal fouls, technical fouls, and flagerant fouls. So, there are 3 different types of fouls in basketball.

The two most "major" penalties in basketball are technical fouls and flagrant fouls. Flagrant fouls are assessed when a player fouls another player with excessive force without making a play on the ball. Technical fouls are assessed to players who disrespect other players or the referree. Technical fouls are judgement calls by the ref. they can be called for cursing, taunting, attempted fighting, arguing or many more things.
He is ejected for a week or if in a tournament he is ejected for it all. However if a coach gets 2 technical fouls he shall be fired.
You can have six fouls or 2 technical fouls before being ejected from the game
