How is the game of netball played?

It means holding the ball for longer then supposed too. Usually 3(three) or 5(five) seconds, depending on what the situation is and who is the umpire. Sometimes it is 5(five) seconds for primary school games, 3(three) seconds for normal games.

it means you had control of the ball more than once. If you have to tap the ball before taking control of it, then make sure your hand is on the side, not the top. Otherwise umpires may see it as possession and may blow you up.

Long story, but heres the rules...

- not lifting your grounded foot whilst in possesion (stepping)

- keeping a distance of 3ft from your opponent if they have the ball and your defending

-not coming into contact with your opponent

- not bouncing the ball in a controlled manner

- not going in areas of the court that you are not permitted in

- having short nails and not wearing jewlelery (wedding rings and medical alerts braceltes are susally excepted buut must sometimes be taped)

-leave the court if you are bleeding

the golden rule : NEVER ARGUE WITH THE UMPIRE

there has to be at least 5 players from each team on court, maximum seven.
