Tug Of War Used To be a Olympic Event but no longer. I don';t know why though. Also Cricket once, Croquet once, Golf, Jeu de Paume(early form of tennis), Lacrosse, Motor Boating once, Pelota once, Polo, Rackets(early form of squash), Rugby. In 2012 Baseball and softball are scheduled to not be held although they are attempting to get back in later games. Some of these sports have also been demonstrated as well as several others which are sometimes of interest to the host nation. Demonstrations are no longer held which I think is a shame as they provide variety to the games.

The Winter Olympics have competitions for sports that are considered 'cold weather sports' .... sports that can only be done on snow or ice. These sports include skiing, speed skating, and ski jumping. The Summer Olympics have competitions for sports that are considered 'warm weather sports'. These sports include athletics (Track and Field), marathon, and equestrian. There are Winter Olympics and Summer Olympics because you can play different sports in different seasons.
