a table and tennis
being able to spin it and being able to beat someone
Basic skills in table tennis--I have been playing tennis for 7 years. I played all 4 years of high school and took tennis classes at my local college. The basic skills I first learned back in my first years of learning tennis were the correct ready position, learning the groundstrokes (forehand and backhand), working the net (volleys and overheads). Serving is a very important skill to get down. If you can't get the serve down well, you will lose a lot of game points. Also the placement of balls (cross-court and down the line shots) and moving around the court in a timely manner.
There are actually three basic strokes in table tennis.......top spin, block and push (or chop).
Playing table tennis involves hitting a ball.
same as lawn tennis

to play table tennis is 'jouer au tennis de table' or 'jouer au ping-pong' (more frequent) in French.
Table tennis is a fairly basic sport when it comes to the equipment. You'll need a regulation size table, a net, table tennis balls and a set of paddles to play.
There are a number of facilities and equipment used in table tennis. The basic ones include a table, bats, net and a ball.
