In March 2009 I sold Dr von Branun autograph on a small booklet titled Saturn Rockets for Space Exploration for $400.
It is best to have a baseball card signed that has a low value, and has less of a chance of growing in value in the future. Once a baseball card is signed it loses it's value as a collectible card, and becomes an item to display the signature. It is less appealing to the card collector, and the collectible becomes the autograph. The bulk of the value will rely on the autograph, not the card. In general, a collector of baseball cards would rather have a baseball card without the signature. The signature would be considered as a flaw in the condition of the card and will lower the value. An inexpensive card will benefit but, if the value grows in the future it will be held back by the growth of the value of the signature. In the world of collecting autographs, signed baseball cards have a lower value than signed photo's, and baseballs. There is a small community of collectors that do collect signed baseball cards, and this keeps the value down. They are in less demand. It would cost you the same amount of money to have a Baseball Card signed as it would to have a Photo signed but, the photo will have a higher resale value. The baseball will cost a little more to have signed but, will have a greater growth in value.

To build on your above answer, what would the value be of a full page letter signed by Walter Johnson on his own personal letterhead and personalized return addressed envelope (with Germantown MD included underneath his name on both) dating 1940 with a 3 cent stamp and if PSA authenticated as I know it would pass. Letter was folded 3 ways to fit in envelope. Thanks in advance.
A signed cover of a 1937 program is compatible in value to a signed 8 x 10 photo or about 40 -60% the price of a signed baseball. Condition of the cover and how well it displays the signatures will factor into the price. Once the cover of the program is signed the program becomes a signed item to display the signatures and the bulk of the value relies on the value of the signatures. A 1937 St. Louis Cardinals team signed program with the key signatures Frisch, Mize, Durocher, Martin, Dean, Haines, Padgett, and Medwick is worth about $120. - $300. Prices may also vary based on the amount of signatures, and key signatures acquired. The more complete the program with key signatures the more valuable. If the signatures are on the inside of the program the signatures will then be valued as "Cut signatures". Each signature will be value on it's own merrit based on condition, display, and the player. The value of the cut signatures can be added to the value of the Program as a collectible about $30. -$40. for a program in Excellent to near/mint condition. Cut Signature or "Cuts" are signature on a small piece of paper, or "cut" from a larger piece. The lowest Item in value for a signature. Cut Signatures are often cut from an item that has been ruined to save its value such as a baseball card, cover of a publication, photograph, letter or notebook on which it was originally signed. Cuts are commonly used for inserts by baseball card companies and sell for about 10 -20% the price of a signed baseball.

With programs/scorecards the slightest flaws will bring the price down significantly. An exceptional mint condition scorecard could sell for more.A collectible item can add some value to the signatures to a degree of being more desired by a collector to display the signatures, but once the collectible item is signed it becomes a display for the signatures, and could lose it's value as a collectible. The bulk of the value will rely on the value of the signature. To a collector of world Series programs the signature would be considered as a flaw in the condition of the program. The signed program would be more desired by the autograph collector, and might not want pay extra for the collectible program. If the signature is on the inside of the program, the program would hold most of it's collectible value, and the signature would be valued as a cut signature. The value of both can be added up.A Kirk Gibson cut signature is worth about $10. A Cut signature is a signature on a small piece of paper, or "cut" from a larger piece.
