The Boston Braves, now the Atlanta Braves, underwent several moves and even a name change from 1936-1940, when they were knows as the Boston Bees. The team eas renamed thre Boston Braves in 1941. The last manager of the team was : * Charles Grimes, aka "Jolly Cholly"; 1952 to 1956. The braves played one year in Boston (1952) with grimes as the manager before moving to Milwaukee.
The Boston Red Stockings were a charter member of the National League when it was founded in 1871. They were a dominate team in the early years of the league. By 1912, the teams name was changed to the Braves. After 82 years in Boston, the Braves moved to Milaukee in 1953. Citing declining fan support, the Braves moved to Atlanta in 1965 and remain there today.

The National Association folded in 1875 and the Red Stockings became a charter member of the National League that was formed in 1876. They were renamed the Red Caps for the 1876 season. The team stayed in Boston until 1952 when it moved operations to Milwaukee. The Atlanta Braves, it can be said, is the oldest existing professional sports franchise in the United States.
