It depends on what you are going to use it for. If you are going to use it for woods ball, the best money can buy is a Real Action Paintball Breda M37 8mm Machine Gun (.68 Cal).

If you are going to use it for speedball, the best money can buy is probably the Dye DM9, DXL Luxe, Ego 09, and Geo 09. All are very expensive but amazing guns in their own way.

no the best and most expensive p-ball gun to go with is the eclipse SL74 i belive that its around 2000 dollars.

The Tippman x7 Phenom is the best of all of them. It is the only Tippmann with a spool valve, and can switch from auto with battery, to semi without. All of the other markers are just the 98 with a cyclone feed and a different outer shell.

The Best Tippmann is the X7 phenom. It is the only Tippmann with a spool valve, regulator and can run on batteries as well as without.

The 98 is the cheapest and simply shoots and nothing more.

The A5 is the 98 with a cyclone feed and slightly better internal design.

The X7 (non phenom) is and A5 with more plastic- do not buy it.

They are decent guns, but not the "best". They are relatively cheap, durable, and with great performance. Their mechanical firing system does make it tricky to fix, however the trade is the accuracy. If you are just starting or have been playing for years you can't go wrong with a Tippmann.
