There may be a hole which starts on a high plateau and the ball falls to a green many yards below but here is no hole with a par 3 designation with a horizontal distance of 600 yards.

Though there are no set distances a par is designated by the number of strokes a scratch player (0 handicap) could reasonably be expected to complete it. Anything over about 235 yards would usually be a par 4 though there are longer par 3 holes, where the ground slopes down for instance.

What is the average length of a hole in golf?

The average hole in golf would be about 400 yards long. A hole in golf ranges from 100 to 600 yards, but there are more holes in the 300-450 range, than there is at the extremes. It is hard to say what the exact average would be.

What is a par 3 in golf?

It's where no more than three strokes are taken from the tee box to the cup. A par 3 hole can be of varying distances, usually not more than 165 yards, and not much shorter than 80 yards. There can still be sand traps, water hazards and other obstacles to circumvent between the tee and the pin.

How common is a hole in one at putt putt golf?

Putt-Putt golf is designed, so the player can get a hole in one on each hole if they use some skill, so it is more common than you would think. Trying to get a hole in one on a real golf course is very rare and is every golfers dream.

What is the usga rule for minimum yards to qualify as a par 5?

There's no real rule. There is a traditional standard that a hole from 260-475 yards should be a par 4. Less would be a 3, more would be a 5. None of this is too traditional because the whole concept of par is relatively new.

Explain the slope rating on a golf course?

Slope rating is the difficulty of the golf course. The higher the rating, then the more difficult one should have. The greens are faster, the course is hilly, and there are many more bunkers.

Longest golf shot in PGA history?

Fergus Muir made a 375-foot "putt" on the par-3 fifth hole at St. Andrews Eden course for a hole in one. But this was a shot with a putter off the tee. The Longest Televised putt was 206 feet by short-game wizard Dave Pelz at Whistling Straits in the run-up to the 2004 PGA Championship. In 1981, Terry Wogan set the world record for the longest successful golf putt ever televised, which was 33 yards (30.2m) at the Gleneagles golf course in a pro-celebrity TV programme on the BBC. *(To see this putt and get more information on both, see the related link) Olympic swimming gold medalist Michael Phelps famously made a long putt in 2012 in team play at St. Andrews in Scotland. The putt was variously reported as 153 or 159 feet and with his net stroke gave him a "1" for the hole.

That depends on which hole. Shorter holes will have more common hole in ones than long ones. In general, still very rare.
