The coin toss was won by Team Sanders. They deferred.
Before an NFL game, the referee conducts a coin toss to determine which team will kick off and which team will receive the ball first. The visiting team gets to call heads or tails in the air. The team that wins the toss can choose to either receive the ball or defer their choice to the second half. The team that loses the toss gets to choose which end zone they want to defend.
