What propels a paintball?

A compressed C02 tank or High Pressure Air tank propels the paintball.

Where is the compressed air chamber in a airgun rifle?

In a break barrel and pump rifle it located directly behind the barrel in a large tube. Rifles that use C02 usually hold the C02 bottle under the barrel.

Does compressed air last longer in paintball?

No, Compressed air lasts much less than a comparably sized C02 tank. This is because CO2 is stored in liquid form, which is much more dense and takes up less space.

Are there any bolt action pellet guns that don't use CO2 or compressed air or that you have to pump like twenty times?

They are called "Air Guns" because they require compressed Air or C02 to fire them. Otherwise they would be called "Firearms". A Firearm doesn't require Air or C02, they just need gunpowder. Even a single stroke "Springer" or "Nitro piston" air gun/rifle require that they be cocked once. But these are not "Bolt Action," these are break barrel in design. So to answer your question: No, there are no "Bolt Action" air guns that "don't" use compressed air or C02 to fire them. However there are several non bolt action models that only need to be cocked once for each shot.

Is a air rifle or BB gun a fire gun?

Air rifles use compressed air or C02 to propel the BB or pellet. They do not use gunpowder. Their is no bullet shell and bullet just the BB or pellet.

What is an airgun?

An air gun is usually a replica of a real firearm that is powered by air or C02 that is used to fire a projectile (Pellet or BB). Only air or C02 is used in the air gun. Whereas a firearm uses gunpowder to fire a bullet. Air guns are powerful but not a powerful as a real firearm.

On paintball guns What do the CO2 Systems do and why do you need them?

On a paintball gun C02, or High pressure air is necessary. It is compressed air that, when the trigger is pulled and the marker fires, propels the paintball out of the barrel.

How does compressed air get into an air rifle?

3 different ways. 1. by using a spring piston that you cock manually 2. injecting the air or C02 from a pump or tank 3. Using a hand pump under the barrel

Why do you need CO2 tank for paintball?

If you meant "why do you need any gas tank for Paintball": the expanding c02 or hpa is what pushes the ball out of the barrel at high speeds and can be used in reseting the gun. If you meant "why you need a C02 tank specifically": you dont need a co2 tank to play paintball. their is compresed air tankes available. most electrical guns must run on air enless you want to be doing maintenance on the gun after every game and replace parts after 5 games. most non electrical guns also can be ran on air but is capable of runing on co2 but air would keep your gun in better condition. You need co2 or compressed air(nitrogen and compressed air are the same thing) so the paintball can fly out of the barrel and to re cock your gun automatically.

What are some sources of c02?

air is CO2

What is a spring-powered air rifle?

Their are 4 common types of air rifle power plants. Spring power: or Nitrogen piston power. this uses a large spring inside an air piston tube; When the barrel is cocked (Commonly called a break barrel rifle) the spring is pushed back in the piston chamber and locks. A pellet or BB is loaded. When the trigger is pulled it releases the spring, forcing the piston forward in the air piston chamber, Compressed air fires the pellet out the barrel. C02: a C02 cartridge is loaded into the rifle and acts as a small air chamber releasing some C02 each time the trigger is fired. Eventually the C02 is used up and has to be replaced. Pump power. simply you pump the forearm on the rifle and it fills an air tank. When you have enough compressed air you fire the rifle PCP: Pre Charge Pneumatic: This is a large air tank inside the rifle. It is charged with a bicycle pump or scuba tank. It's like an oversized C02 tank inside the rifle. Again each time the trigger is pulled the tank releases a burst of air behind the pellet to fire it out of the barrel. This type of air rifle is usually a very high-powered rifle.
