Yes. In my opinion its the best way.
In volleyball, players typically use a two-handed overhead pass, often referred to as a set, to return a serve. However, this technique is only legal if the ball is cleanly contacted without any prolonged contact or lifting. If the serve is received with both hands over the head, it must be done in a way that adheres to the rules, ensuring the ball is not thrown or carried. In general, players often opt for a forearm pass (bump) for serves, especially if they're low or fast.

When your talking about receiving that ball from a serve, then no. While setters may "get" the ball from a serve to save it from hitting the ground it is never their goal to receive a serve. In most cases, the back row players will receive the serve and try to bump it to the setter who will, in turn, set it to the hitter. In a real game, it doesn't always happen this way of course but that is the basic set up for volleyball play.
There is the bump which is when you close your hands close together and hits the ball. There is the set when you put both hands up towards the sky and you hit the ball up with your fingertips. The last one i the spike, you jump up and smack the ball down.
F.A.Q. Which is the best way to serve? Well, the one that portrays your strength the most is underhand, but overhand goes faster. When should I bump it, and when should i set or spike it?
