Tom Daley is an 18 year old diver from Great Britain who specialises in the Men's 10m platform event. He is the 2nd youngest British Olympian of all time, behind the 13 year old rower, Kenny Lester. He came 7th in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and then went on to win the World title in 2009 and the European title. In 2010, Tom won 2 gold medals in the Commonwealth Games, 1 in the individual and one with his synchro partner at the time, Max brick. In the London 2012 Olympic Games, Tom placed 3rd in the Men's 10m platform individual event. He currently holds the British title and pointscoring record, as well as the European title.See related link below.
A trial took place with all three divers, Tom Daley, Pete Waterfield and Max Brick, to find the best combination. It was decided that Tom Daley and Pete Waterfield would be the best pairing. Pete is an Olympic silver medalist from 2004, so has a wealth of experience. Pete decided not to travel to the Commonwealth Games because of security concerns so Tom and Max competed, and won, the Men's 10M Synchro event. This reopened the debate among supporters, but British Diving continued with the Tom and Pete pairing. My guess is that after London 2012 Pete will retire and Tom and Max will renew their partnership.
