The only way a player is awarded 3 free throw shots is if the player is fouled in the act of shooting a 3 pointer. Otherwise, the number of free throw awarded (maximum of 2) would be determined by number of team fouls.

In Basketball what is an And1?

An 'And1' occurs when a player from one team goes for a shot and is fouled but still makes the shot. The player gets 2 points for making his shot, and also goes to the free throw line for ONE free throw, so they get to points AND1 free throw. And sometimes, a player get fouled from beyond the ark ( three point line) and get fouled and still makes the shot, so most times it 2 for one, but some times its 3 for one

What is a foul in the NBA?

A foul in the NBA is when the referee blows the whistle because of illegal contact. For example, someone is shooting the ball and the defender (the person guarding you on the other team) tries to block it but instead they just whack your arm, it's a foul. When you get fouled, you get to shoot free throws if you are shooting or if a certain person fouls a certain amount of times in a half or if the person who has been fouled has been fouled a certain amount of times, they get to shoot free throws. Free throws are worth 1 point for each one made. You always will shoot 2 free throws, unless if you get fouled when, you are shooting a 3-pointer, then you get 3 shots or if you get fouled a certain amount of times in a half or someone on the other team fouls a certain amount of times, you get what's called a "1 and 1" where you shoot 1 free throw and if you make it, you get to shoot another one but the "1 and 1" is only from leagues that children play in all the way to college. In the NBA, instead of the "1 and 1" you go ahead and get 2 shots.

Two fair dice are each numbered so that they have the numbers 1 3 5 7 9 and 11 how many ways are there of scoring a total of 16?

5 + 11 11 + 5 7 + 9 9 + 7 So 4 ways if you are allowed to throw each die only once. But the question did not state that assumption; so the additional ways are: Throw die #1 16 times and get 1 each time. Throw die #2 16 times and get 1 each time. Throw die # 1 13 times and get 1 13 times and 3 once. Throw die # 2 13 times and get 1 13 times and 3 once. Throw die #1 13 times and get 1 each time, then throw die # 2 once and get 3. Throw die #1 12 times and get 1 each time, then throw die #2 once and get 3, then throw die #1 again and get another 1. You get the idea, figure out the rest yourself.
